In the week leading into our Cutting Edge: margin to mainstream national conference - beginning Sunday 2nd July and merging with the conference itself - there will be an exciting literature-focused program of writers’ Master Classes - Litfest, featuring prominent Australian writers across a range of genres, who will be co-providing writing workshops for students, teachers and members of the public at large.
Held across a range of iconic Hobart venues, the sessions will focus on varying literary genres from narrative fiction, through drama and poetry to non-fiction writing, and every permutation in between. Leading these sessions will be major Australian exponents of the forms who will share their expertise and experience with participants.
Not just the ‘usual’ writers’ festival program, this series of events will feature hands-on, active participation from all those willing to try their style under the leadership and guidance of some of our best Australian writers.
The major sponsor for this Cutting Edge: Litfest Master Class program is Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund who, through its close association with the Australian Society of Authors (ASA), Auslit, the Association for the Study of Australian Literature (ASAL), Griffith Review, Australian Book Review (ABR), AATE, ALEA and ETA NSW, has produced the innovative and highly successful Reading Australia project. AATE, ETA NSW and ALEA have been key players in the initiative through writing and producing a huge range of teaching resources for this wonderful Australian literature treasure trove.
So, when coming to our conference, why not come a little earlier, enjoy our southernmost capital city at this sparkling, crisp time and tune in to some new writing and reading experiences?
